Why should cats have all the fun?

Dear Friend,

Please be introduced to our play How to Be a Dog – A Steaming Pile of Song and Dance (with music by Dan Miner). After many years of writing and revising, we’re seeking a venue for its production. On this website you’ll find a sample scene, an outline of the cast of characters, and a synopsis with some sample songs (played here with minimal guitar accompaniment).

The play is a two-act musical comedy about four dogs and their day. It’s a show about love lost and found, about how big the world is, and the importance of home. It is a funny show with relatable characters and heartfelt, sentimental moments. There are five supporting parts for a total cast of nine. Staging is minimal. It runs about two hours.

How to Be a Dog is a feel-good musical that will appeal to people who love dogs, and people who love people who love dogs. If you are interested in producing this play, please contact me and I would be happy to send you the full script. If you are a theater lover, and want to stay in the loop for updates of where to see the show, please get on our mailing list.

With Best Regards,

Edso Valena
